1. Agreement

By accessing alexvidovich.com (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. The Site is operated by Alex Vidovich (“I”, “me”), an independent researcher.

2. Nature of the content

The Site publishes research notes, working papers, and commentary on quantitative research methodology, backtesting, software engineering, and financial regulation. Everything described on the Site is backtest, simulation, and statistical research. Articles frequently describe hypotheses that failed testing — publishing negative results is the Site’s stated purpose.

3. Not investment advice

Nothing on this Site is investment advice, financial advice, trading advice, or a recommendation of any kind. I am not an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner, and I am not registered with any financial regulatory authority. No content on the Site:

• constitutes an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, derivative, currency, digital asset, or other financial instrument;
• is tailored to the investment needs, objectives, or circumstances of any person;
• creates any advisory, fiduciary, or professional relationship between you and me.

If you are considering any financial decision, consult a licensed professional who can evaluate your individual situation. Do not make investment decisions based on anything you read here.

4. Hypothetical and simulated results

Any performance-related statements on the Site refer to backtested, simulated, or hypothetical results, including results computed on synthetic data. Hypothetical results have inherent limitations: they are prepared with the benefit of hindsight, do not reflect actual trading, do not account for all costs, liquidity constraints, or market impact, and no representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve results similar to those discussed. Backtested strategies frequently fail in live conditions — several articles on this Site exist precisely to document that phenomenon.

5. Risk statement

Trading and investing in financial instruments involves substantial risk, including the possible loss of all invested capital. Any action you take based on information from this Site is solely at your own risk, and you bear full responsibility for your decisions and their outcomes.

6. Accuracy and availability

Content is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Content may contain errors, may become outdated, and may be changed or removed at any time. I have no obligation to update any content, and the Site may be unavailable at any time without notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, I shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages — including, without limitation, trading or investment losses, lost profits, or loss of data — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to access the Site, which is zero.

Site content is © Alex Vidovich unless otherwise stated. You may quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link to the original. Research papers linked from the Site carry their own stated licenses (for example, papers posted on SSRN under Creative Commons terms). Published simulation code is provided for verification and study; it carries no warranty of any kind.

9. Third-party sites and services

The Site links to third-party platforms (including SSRN, Substack, Medium, and X). I do not control and am not responsible for their content, availability, or policies. Syndicated copies of Site articles on those platforms are subject to this same Section 3 and 4 disclaimer wherever they appear.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
